Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the deceased as 59-year-old Kenneth Carson.
Harwood ruled Carson died of smoke inhalation and burns that covered 100% of his body.
Toxicology was pending.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded around 1:30 p.m. Sunday to the 600 block of Spitznagle Avenue on reports of a fire.
Fire Battalion Chief Ralph Phillips said crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the front of a one-story home.
The fire was under control in less than 10 minutes.
Firefighters searched the home and found a deceased person inside.
Peoria Animal Control was called to take custody of a dog that was unharmed.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Damage was estimated at $25,000.
