PEORIA, Ill. — With a 78-70 win over Drake in the championship game of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, the Bradley Braves Women’s Basketball team is headed to the NCAA tournament.
Bradley was set to play league champion and 17th-ranked Missouri State in the semifinals on Saturday but the Bears, with a 21-2 record, pulled out of the tournament over a positive COVID-19 test in the Bradley camp.
Braves Head Coach Andrea Gorski told WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, dealing with COVID-19, it feels like this season’s gone on for years.
“Everyday you have to get tested, you have to stay in your bubble and you really can’t go out anywhere. And, you know, I’m just really proud of the team,” Gorski said.
The Braves will find out who they’re up against first in the tournament during the ESPN Women’s NCAA Selection Special Monday night.
“As soon as we get our opponent, our coaching staff will get to work and start pounding the films,” Gorski said.
The Selection show starts at 6 p.m.
Gorski said the team will gather at Renaissance Coliseum to watch the selection show together.
