SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported just five deaths related to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
In addition, IDPH also reported 1,182 new and probable cases of the virus in Illinois.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity remains under 3% at 2.8%.
As of Sunday night, 1,178 people in Illinois were in the hospital with the virus. Of those, 266 were in the ICU and 118 were on ventilators.
In the last seven days, the state is administering an average of more than 90,000 vaccine doses per day.
