PEORIA, Ill. — No one in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties between Thursday and Friday passed away from COVID-19.
The new case count was notably low, too, compared with recent counts, with 39 new positives. Peoria accounted for 23, Tazewell, 15, and Woodford, 1.
Hospitalization totals did tick upwards, however, as 25 virus patients as of Friday afternoon were in beds. Five of those beds were in intensive care units.
Those 25 made up around a quarter of the greater Region Two hospitalization count, as 97 people in total throughout the region were in hospitals, a decrease of three from Thursday.
ICU bed availability for the region sloped upwards, from 27% on Thursday to 28%.
The region’s rolling seven-day positivity rate remained at 2.9%.
