PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria County woman in her 70s is the latest area resident to succumb to COVID-19.
She lived at Cornerstone.
A total of 52 people throughout Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties between Wednesday and Thursday tested positive.
Tazewell had the highest count, 29, followed by 19 for Peoria and four for Woodford.
A total of 22 virus patients were in area hospitals. Two of them were in intensive care.
For Region Two as a whole, ICU bed availability held strong for the third straight day at 27%. The region must stay at or above 20%.
Three fewer virus patients throughout the region were in hospitals, for a total of 100.
Rolling seven-day positivity rate remained at 2.9%.
