***UPDATE*** 3/1/21 4:22 P.M.
A suspect has been taken into custody.
Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said his office, along with the Peoria Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested 27-year-old Antonio Rambert around 12:20 P.M. Monday in the 1800 block of Kneer St.
Asbell said Rambert’s arrest was not without incident, as he allegedly rammed several authorities’ vehicles before being nabbed.
The vehicle Rambert was driving matched the one reported to have fled the Friday scene. Inside the vehicle, authorities found firearms and illegal substances.
Upon his arrest, he was charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Street Gang Member,
Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon by a
Felon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, and Armed Violence.
He was booked into the Peoria County Jail.

UPDATE 12:40 P.M.
WEST PEORIA, Ill. — The injury sustained by the 36-year old man is non-life-threatening, according to Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell.
There is no new suspect information at this time.

WEST PEORIA, Ill. — Police were called just before 7:30 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of N. Western Avenue in West Peoria on reports of a shooting.
Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said a 36-year old man was seriously injured, suffering a gunshot wound to the back.
Asbell said the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
The victim was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for their injuries.
There is no suspect information at this time. The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
