SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Over 102,000 Illinoisans between Thursday and Friday received the COVID-19 shot, marking the second consecutive day — and second day ever — the 100,000 mark was broken.
The exact number was 102,670.
A total of 2,441 tests during the reporting period rendered positive results. 55 people died.
1,393 virus patients as of Thursday night were in hospitals throughout the state. 336 of them were in intensive care units, while 174 were using ventilators to breathe.
Testing labs throughout the state collected 92,256 specimens.
