SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health reported nearly 1,600 new COVID cases on Sunday and 35 additional COVID-related deaths.
20,269 Illinoisans have died from the virus since the pandemic began.
As of Saturday night, 1,468 people were hospitalized across the state for COVID-19. Of those patients, 356 were in intensive care and 170 on ventilators.
The statewide seven-day rolling positivity rate is 2.7%.
IDPH says to date, Illinois has administered 2,151,952 vaccine doses, with 282,820 at long-term care facilities.
The statewide seven-day rolling average for vaccines administered is 52,658 doses.
