PEORIA, Ill. — A Woodford County woman in her 70s died between Thursday and Friday of COVID-19 complications.
She did not live in long-term care.
A total of 76 new cases were reported throughout Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties, combined. Tazewell had 34, Peoria was just behind at 33, and nine Woodford residents tested positive.
One fewer person was in area hospitals on Friday from Thursday, as the Peoria City/County Health Department said 31 people as of Friday afternoon were hospitalized. Nine of the 31 were in intensive care.
All three key Region Two metrics either stagnated or trended slightly in the wrong direction.
Rolling seven-day positivity rate increased, from 3.8% to 3.9%.
ICU bed availability remained at 29%, while there were no more or fewer COVID patients throughout the region in hospitals.
