PEORIA, Ill. — Three residents of the Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford tri-county died between Wednesday and Thursday from COVID-19 complications.
In Tazewell, a man in his 50s passed.
A Peoria County man and woman, both in their 70s, died.
None of the deceased’s living situations were known.
A total of 77 tests came back positive. 41 were tests taken by Peoria County residents, 28 pertained to Tazewell, and the other eight were Woodford.
Hospitalizations increased from Wednesday. 32 people as of Thursday afternoon were in area hospitals, while 26 as of Wednesday were hospitalized.
12 of Thursday’s 32 were in intensive care.
For the second straight day, Region Two ICU capacity decreased, ticking down to 29%. The region has to stay above 20% to avoid slipping out of phase four of Restore Illinois.
Rolling seven-day positivity rate decreased to 3.8%, while one more hospital bed came available, from 120 COVID patients in hospitals to 119.
