LINCOLN, Ill. — Will it be another polar vortex this weekend?
Scott Baker, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Lincoln, is predicting overnight low temperatures Saturday and Sunday will be below zero.
“And, we’re also looking for some wind chills to be in the negative double digits,” Baker added.
So far this winter, the NWS said the Peoria metro area’s temperatures have been slightly above average, with snow totals a bit less than normal.
Moving into the early spring, the NWS Climate Prediction Center is looking for a warm up.
“They are hinting a 30-40% chance of average temperatures. So, that would mean that March and April’s temperatures would warm up,” Baker said.
The NWS is also predicting above average precipitation throughout March an April.
