PEORIA, Ill. — Three deaths occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday from COVID-19 complications throughout the tri-county.
A man in his 90s who lived at Villas of Holly Brook passed away, while another Peoria County resident, a woman in her 70s with underlying health problems, also passed away.
A Tazewell County woman in her 90s also died.
Overall, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford recorded 153 new cases. 80 of them were in Peoria, 60 Tazewell residents tested positive, and Woodford had 13.
Area hospitalizations decreased by one, going from 45 on Tuesday to Wednesday’s 44. 12 of the 44 were intensive care.
Region Two ICU bed capacity, which had been trending downward over the past week, ticked upward, from 25% to 26%. The region must remain above 20% to stay in phase four of Restore Illinois.
The region’s rolling seven-day positivity rate and number of COVID patients in hospitals remained well within the range to stay in phase four.
