SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday announced 81 additional COVID-19 related deaths in the state, including 3,751 new confirmed and probable cases.
Over the past 24 hours, laboratories have collected 80,124 specimens.
As of Tuesday night, 2,931 in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 591 were in the ICU and 300 were on ventilators.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate continues to hold steady and currently sits at 4.5%.
In addition, more than 750,000 vaccines have been administered thus far across Illinois, including more than 115,000 in long-term care facilities.
