PEORIA, Ill. — The Greater Peoria Farm Show had been scheduled for Dec. 1-3, 2020, but then was pushed back to March 9-11, 2021, with hopes COVID-19 restrictions would ease up.
The show on Monday was canceled, altogether, because the Peoria Civic Center said it does not expect to be able to host events of more than 50 people through the spring of 2021.
Region Two of Illinois was moved Monday to Phase Four of Restore Illinois, which does ease some restrictions, but does not allow for events of more than 50% capacity or 50 people.
“We are disappointed to be canceling the show. However, we are actively shifting our focus towards the next Greater Peoria Farm Show, scheduled for November 30 through December 2, 2021,” said John K. Riles, President of Midwest Shows Inc., the company that produces the event.
“This show will provide a great opportunity to celebrate the return to a more normal routine with the area’s agricultural community.”
