PEORIA, Ill. — UPDATED: A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through noon Tuesday.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins forecasts a wintry mix including freezing rain which will change to snow and sleet.
“Ice accumulation could be a tenth to a quarter inch. Snow and sleet accumulation around the Peoria area looks like two to three inches,” Collins said.
Heavier snow amounts are expected North and Northwest of Peoria and lesser amounts are likely South of the area.
“Strong Northeast wind gusting over 30 miles per hour will cause problems as well,” Collins said.
Storms are expected to enter the Peoria area after 3 p.m. Monday.
