PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police have identified the human remains discovered Friday morning inside of a recreation vehicle in the 8300 block of N. Knoxville to be 49-year-old Jeffrey Blevins.
Autopsy results Saturday revealed Blevins suffered a single gunshot wound to his upper body and died instantly of significant internal bleeding.
Peoria Police have requested assistance from anyone within the tri-county area or elsewhere who have had contact with or dealt with Blevins Tree Service. If anyone has information, they are to contact Detective Scott Hulse at (309)494-8391.
The case remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police are now treating a missing person investigation as a homicide investigation after finding remains Friday morning.
Jeffrey Blevins, 49-years-old, was reported to be missing Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Blevins’ family reported not having heard from him for several days.
A detective with the Criminal Investigations Division located human remains inside of a recreational vehicle in the 8300 block of N. Knoxville just after 10:00 a.m. Friday. At this time, the identity of the victim is unknown.
The original missing person investigation is now being treated as a homicide investigation, according to Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
Cause and manner of death as well as the identity of the victim will be determined by the Peoria County Coroner at the conclusion of the autopsy.
50-year-old Mona Ellison was found dead in East Peoria Thursday morning.
The incident is under investigation.
