SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Thursday reported 6,652 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 88 additional deaths.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity continues to drop and now sits at 8%.
118,036 specimens were collected in the last 24 hours by laboratories.
As of Wednesday night, 3,511 in Illinois were in the hospital with the virus. Of those, 742 were in the ICU and 382 were on ventilators.
In the last seven days, the state is administering an average of 26,703 vaccine doses per day.
