SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois health officials reported 4,711 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, including 81 additional deaths as the state’s positivity rate dropped following a recent increase.
As of Saturday night, 3,527 people in Illinois were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of those, 740 patients were in the ICU and 391 were on ventilators.
Illinois’ statewide preliminary seven-day positivity rate is now 7.9%.
