SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — More COVID-19 patients Sunday night were in Illinois intensive care unit beds than were on Saturday night. Use of ventilators was also up.
3,948 beds in total were in use, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. 816 of those beds were in ICUs.
471 people were using ventilators to breathe.
Overall, 5,059 people tested positive between Sunday and Monday for the virus, to go along with 79 additional deaths.
Labs during the reporting period collected 48,254 specimens for COVID testing.
