UPDATE:
PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police Thursday afternoon have arrested a 17-year-old male responsible for the shooting homicide on the city’s northside.
The 17-year-old male was transported to the Peoria Police Department Criminal Investigations Division for interview purposes and was then arrested for First Degree Murder. He was taken to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office was at the scene and also announced Thursday the victim was 39-year-old Leigh Herring.

PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police Thursday afternoon were investigating a shooting homicide on the city’s northside.
Officers responded shortly before 11:00 Wednesday night to the 1700 block of W. Thames regarding a report about a domestic dispute between a male and female.
The report was shortly thereafter changed to a male shot in the head.
When officers arrived, they confirmed the report. A man had, indeed, been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office was at the scene and announced Thursday the victim was 39-year-old Leigh Herring.
No suspect information was immediately made available.
