PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties have experienced a combined 18 COVID-19-related deaths since last Wednesday to go along with 832 new cases, overall.
The deaths were split between Peoria and Tazewell, with nine apiece.
In Peoria, three Sharon Elms residents died: a male and female in their 70s and a male in his 80s. A male in his 60s who lived at Sharon Willows also passed away, as did a man in his 20s, a man in his 60s, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 70s, all with comorbidities, and a woman in her 80s who was not known to have comorbidities or live in long-term care.
Tazewell County experienced the deaths of two females in their 100s, one of whom lived at Aperion Morton Villa. An Apostolic Christian Restmor resident in her 80s died, as did a female in her 70s, a female in her 80s, and four men in their 70s, none of whom were reported to have lived in long-term care.
With an even 400 new cases, Tazewell County has surpassed 10,000 cases since the start of the pandemic. Peoria County reported 339 new cases, and Woodford had 93.
140 people within the tri-county were in hospitals with the virus or with suspected cases of it. 40 of those people were in intensive care.
Region Two was in the “green” as of Monday in all four metrics it needed to meet in order to be moved to tier two mitigation levels.
The rolling seven-day positivity rate was under 12% for the 11th consecutive day, while med/surg capacity was in its 11th straight day above a 20% threshold, patient admissions to hospitals decreased for the 10th consecutive day, and intensive care unit bed capacity was above a 20% threshold for a third straight day.
