PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria Public Schools Resource Officer has died, according to a Tuesday morning Facebook post by the officers.
Sgt. Frank Serrano served the department for over 20 years.
“He was the heartbeat of the team as a planner during events, showed bravery in the face of danger, became a mentor for Spanish speaking students and was the departments practical jokester,” said the post.
Serrano was the Campus Safety Command Officer at Manual Academy.
