SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported 4,699 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 98 additional deaths.
In addition, the seven-day rolling positivity rate continues to decline across the state. Monday, that number was at 9.3% compared to 9.6% on Sunday.
Hospitalizations were up across the state on Monday compared to Sunday, however. As of Sunday night, 4,460 patients were in hospitals with the virus compared to 4,389 on Saturday night.
Of those in the hospital, 981 were in the ICU and 546 were on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 86,454 specimens were collected across the state.
