PEORIA, Ill. — Three people were injured Friday night when the driver of an SUV crashed into three parked cars in Peoria.
Police and emergency crews were called to the scene just after 7 p.m. to the area of North Street and Armstrong Avenue.
“Preliminary information indicated the driver of an SUV was driving southbound on North Street at a high rate of speed when it collided with three other vehicles in the 1300 block of North,” said Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
The male driver of one of the parked cars suffered head, chest, and lower extremity injuries that were considered life-threatening. A female passenger sustained serious injuries, according to Fire Battalion Chief Rick Morgan.
“The driver of the SUV, a female, also sustained injuries. All three were transported to a local hospital,” Dotson said.
The accident remains under investigation.
