SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health reported Saturday 8,737 new and probable COVID-19 cases to go along with 127 additional deaths.
Testing labs across the state collected 126,888 specimens. The rolling seven-day positivity rate was 10.8%.
5,048 of Illinois’s hospital beds were occupied by virus patients. 1,072 of them were in intensive care, and 627 patients were using ventilators.
