PEORIA, Ill. — A combined five residents of Woodford and Tazewell Counties died between Thursday and Friday from coronavirus complications.
In Woodford, a female and male who were both in their 70s died from it. They were not associated with long-term care.
Tazewell County experienced three deaths: a woman in her 60s who lived at Lakeside Rehab and Healthcare, a man in his 100s who was a resident of Apostolic Christian Restmor, and a man in his 70s who reportedly did not live in long-term care.
A total of 316 Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford County residents tested positive.
140 of them live in Peoria County, 130 live in Tazewell, and 46 live in Woodford.
Of the 180 people in area hospitals as of Friday afternoon with the virus or suspected cases of it, 49 had cases severe enough to be in intensive care.
Region Two’s overall ICU bed capacity was down to 14.4%.
In better news, the region’s rolling seven-day positivity rate was down to 12.7%. A region must be below 12% for three consecutive days for the state to move that region from tier three to tier two mitigation, among other metrics that must be met.
