MORTON, Ill. — COVID-19 numbers went down from the week of Nov. 13 to the week of Nov. 20 at Morton School District 709.
This decrease continued the trend the district has seen the entire month of November.
As of Friday, Nov. 20, nine students were not in school due to coronavirus, compared to 18 the week before. There were 31 students out of school at the beginning of November.
The number of quarantined students decreased this past week from 253 to 240.
Staff members out of school due to COVID-19 also decreased from 10 to four. Quarantined teachers were reduced by 14.
Morton School District remains confident in their procedures and urges families to minimize risk in their homes over the holidays.
