PEORIA, Ill. — City of Peoria City Treasurer Patrick Nichting announced Friday that he will not seek another term as Treasurer.
Nichting has served in the position since 2009. Prior to his position as Treasurer, he served as Fifth District Councilman beginning in 1997.
In addition to serving as Treasurer, he is the Township Tax Collector and Treasurer for both the Peoria Police and Peoria Firemen’s Pension Boards.
He also served on the Firefighters Pension Investment Fund for Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
Before his terms in Peoria government, he was the President and CEO of Panco Food Service Equipment Corporation for 28 years.
“Serving the City has been one of the greatest privileges of my life,” said Nichting. “Following the end of my term, I look forward to spending more time with my family.”
