PEORIA, Ill. — Living, breathing fans won’t be allowed into Carver Arena and Renaissance Coliseum to start the 2020-2021 Bradley men’s and women’s basketball seasons because of COVID-19 restrictions.
It’s a different story for cardboard replicas of said fans, however.
“We still wanted to provide fans ways to still be engaged,” said Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Tickets Nathan Bramwell on Thursday’s edition of WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show.”
“I know you’re not actually there. I don’t even know if you technically feel like you’re there, but it’s still cool to see, like, hey, that’s me on TV there behind the bench, and that’s my cardboard cutout.
“It’s something we’re excited about being able to offer fans.”
Bramwell said one cutout will cost $75, or $125 for two.
“Fancams” will also be offered, as well, in which fans will be asked to submit videos of themselves cheering, chanting, announcing starting lineups, and even performing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
“We can still try and create as much of a home court advantage as possible,” said Bramwell.
