PEORIA, Ill. — The area’s hospital bed capacity decreased drastically between Tuesday and Wednesday, from 119 beds occupied by COVID-19 patients to 149.
33 of those 149 patients were in intensive care.
Two female residents of Generations at Peoria have died from COVID-related complications. One was in her 60s, and the other was in her 90s.
Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties reported a combined 330 new cases of the virus.
Peoria recorded 158, Tazewell reported 137, and Woodford said it had 35.
Region Two’s rolling seven-day positivity rate increased to 14.6%. Wednesday marked the 13th consecutive day the region was above the 8% line.
When a region reaches 14 consecutive days above that mark, the state can recommend stricter mitigation measures.
The tri-county’s recovery rate went up slightly, to 73.08%.
