PEORIA, Ill. — 10 more people in Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties have passed away from complications related to COVID-19.
In Peoria County, Heritage Health in Chillicothe experienced another virus-related death, as a woman in her 80s succumbed. This marked the facility’s sixth death since last Friday.
The Peoria City/County Health Department also reported a death from Sept. 26 that had not been reported: a female in her 40s with comorbidities who lived at Sharon Willows.
Woodford County’s four deaths all occurred at Heritage Health in El Paso, which has experienced six deaths in one week.
The deaths were to two females and one male in their 90s, and a female in her 80s, all of whom had comorbidities.
Tazewell also reported four. Three males who did not live in long-term care all passed away: one in 50s, one in his 80s, and one in his 90s.
A man in his 90s who lived at Villas of Hollybrook in Pekin also died.
The area’s death total increased to 125.
The tri-county also increased its active case count by 114. Peoria accounted for 66, while Tazewell reported 43 more, and Woodford added five.
18 of the 57 hospitalized cases as of Tuesday afternoon were in intensive care.
The area’s recovery rate increased to 83.4%.
