PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria teen has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for his role in a 2018 double homicide near Bradley University.
18-year-old Jermontay Brock was found guilty in August of first-degree murder and aggravated battery in the slayings of 22-year-old Anthony Polnitz and 18-year-old Nasjay Murry, which occurred on Apr. 9 of 2018.
Brock was 16 at the time of the murders, which prosecutors argued took place because Brock was trying to improve his standing in the Bomb Squad, a local gang.
Brock will be eligible for parole in 2040.
