CHILLICOTHE, Ill. — Illinois Valley Central High School students, staff, and parents received word Tuesday afternoon two individuals within the school have tested positive for COVID-19.
Principal Kenneth Bergman sent a letter shortly after noon to announce the people who tested positive will be required to quarantine.
He also said a “thorough electrostatic cleaning was completed over the weekend in classrooms and common areas” throughout the school. The principal added such a cleaning has been taking place every weekend.
Bergman said return-to-school plans were remaining in place, meaning all staff and students will continue to be required to wear masks at all times while inside the building, among other guidelines.
The letter did not make it clear as to whether the positive tests were to students or staff.
The two cases weren’t the first the school has experienced, as one person tested positive shortly after school started.
