PEORIA, Ill. — Three COVID deaths over the weekend throughout Peoria and Tazewell Counties have increased the tri-county total — which includes Woodford — to 103.
The Tazewell deaths were to females in their 80s who lived at Timber Creek, which has been experiencing an outbreak.
The Peoria death was to a man in his 70s who did not live in long-term care.
Each county’s death count stood as of Monday afternoon as such: Peoria, 51; Tazewell, 44; Woodford, eight.
The area’s total coronavirus count since testing began has risen to an even 6,600, after 209 new cases popped up between Friday and Monday.
122 of the new cases were in Peoria County, while Tazewell had 70 and Woodford reported 17.
66 people were in area hospitals as of Monday afternoon with the virus. 19 of them were intensive care.
The area’s recovery rate improved to just about 86%.
