PEORIA, Ill. — A man on a mini bike has died after a collision Friday night with a car.
The incident happened shortly after 6:30 at the intersection of Marquette and Ligonier.
Peoria Police were called on reports a child on a bike was hit by a car.
Upon arrival, they found the victim was actually an adult male who was unresponsive nearby.
Despite attempts by police, firefighters, and civilians to save the man’s life, he was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The driver of the car was also treated at a hospital.
Preliminary investigations which, as of Saturday morning, were ongoing, indicate the man on the bike failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.
