PEORIA, Ill. — A man sustained burns serious enough to hospitalize him after a fire Saturday morning in Peoria’s West Bluff.
Peoria Firefighter/Paramedics responded to a call around 4:45 regarding a house fire in the 1700 block of W. Bradley Ave.
There, they found the man lying on the ground outside the home’s garage.
He was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.
Fire officials said the burns were to his hands, and he was being taken Saturday morning from a local hospital to Memorial Regional Burn Center in Springfield.
Meanwhile, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within ten minutes.
The cause of the blaze was being investigated.
