PEORIA, Ill. — The Tri-county area is gaining two new community testing sites for COVID-19 in October.
Peoria City/County Health Department Administrator Monica
Hendrickson urges residents to get tested for COVID especially if you’re experiencing symptoms you’d typically dismiss as signs of allergies or a cold.
“This year, with COVID-19, we want to make sure that we’re all taking the additional steps and precautions to not only protect ourselves, but also our loved ones and neighbors,” Hendrickson said.
Hendrickson adds, the best way for us to stay ahead of the virus is to get people tested, especially if they’ve been exposed, or are having symptoms.
“If you do get tested, make sure that you isolate away from others while you wait for your test results. That way, if they are positive, you decrease exposure to other individuals,” Hendrickson said.
The Bartonville pop-up site will be open Friday, October 16th from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Limstone Community Pool (1605 W. Garfield Avenue).
The Chillicothe testing site will be open October 28, 29 and 30th from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Chillicothe Public Library (430 N. Bradley Avenue).
Hendrickson reminds residents that you don’t have to be sick to get tested, and there is no cost.
