PEORIA, Ill. — Six area people between Thursday and Friday passed away from issues related to coronavirus, which means Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties have reached 100 COVID deaths.
The two Peoria residents who died were a male in his 70s and a female in her 90s, who weren’t long-term care facility residents.
Four Tazewell residents died.
One was a man in his 80s who did not live in long-term care. A male in his 80s, a male in his 70s, and a female in her 60s, meanwhile, were all residents of Timber Creek.
Peoria County has now accounted for exactly half the area deaths. Tazewell has had 42, while eight Woodford residents have died.
101 tests came back positive during the reporting period. Tazewell recorded 58, Peoria had 40, and Woodford reported three.
Area hospitalizations for COVID dropped slightly, to 57. 21 of them were intensive care.
85.5% of area residents have recovered since testing started.
