PEORIA, Ill. — Three Tazewell County long-term care facility residents passed away between Wednesday and Thursday from coronavirus complications.
One was a male in his 70s, a resident of Timber Creek in Pekin.
The other two were a male and female, both in their 80s, and both residents of Villas of Holly Brook in Pekin, which has had six deaths since last Friday.
Tazewell County’s death total increased to 38. Peoria remained at 48, and Woodford stayed at eight, for a total of 94 for the tri-county.
The Peoria City/County Health Department reported 63 new cases during the 24-hour period.
Tazewell once again had the highest count, 31. 28 Peoria County residents received positive test results, and Woodford County’s count went up by four.
The area’s recovery rate kept its trend upwards, with 85.6% of residents having recovered.
Hospitalization counts remained almost identical to Wednesday’s counts, with 22 coronavirus patients in intensive care, and 60 patients hospitalized, overall.
