PEORIA, Ill. — Gov. J-B Pritzker has appointed Peoria mayoral candidate and City Council Member Rita Ali to the Illinois Housing Development Authority.
Ali currently serves as an at-large member on the Peoria City Council and is Vice President of Workforce and Diversity at Illinois Central College.
When she announced her intentions to run for mayor in Peoria, Ali said she’d retire from her position at ICC if elected.
Ali was one of 18 people appointed Wednesday by Gov. Pritzker to serve on various state authorities and commissions.
