PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police were called just after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Spalding regarding trouble with male.
Upon investigation, officers determined the suspect forced his way into a residence armed with a knife.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said the victim was able to get the knife away from the suspect.
“During the tussle, the suspect suffered a laceration to his hand and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Dotson said.
The suspect, James E. Jackson, 52, was taken into custody and arrested for attempted first-degree murder and home invasion.
