PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria and Tazewell Counties each experienced a COVID-19-related death in the Tuesday-Wednesday reporting period.
Both deaths involved people in their 80s.
The Peoria death was of a man who lived at Generations at Peoria. The Tazewell woman who died lived at Aperion Morton Villa.
Those deaths brought Peoria’s total to 47 and Tazewell’s to 28. The tri-county as a whole has experienced 82 deaths in total related to COVID.
51 people throughout the tri-county during the 24-hour period received positive test results, with 30 in Peoria, 15 in Tazewell, and two in Woodford.
Nine fewer hospital beds were being used Wednesday than had been on Tuesday, a decrease from 61 to 52. 15 of the 61 patients were in intensive care.
The area’s recovery rate continued its recent upward trend, rising to 82%.
