PEORIA, Ill. — A car that struck a tree in the wee hours of Sunday morning has left four people dead.
Peoria Police and Firefighter/Paramedics were dispatched around 3:45 to the curve where SW Washington and Darst intersect.
They found a vehicle had struck a tree.
Peoria Police Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said one person was ejected and three others were trapped inside the vehicle.
All occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Information gathered indicated the car was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on Washington when the driver lost control and the vehicle spun out of control,” said Dotson.
The tree the vehicle struck was on the southeast side of Washington Street, Dotson said.
