SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health on Sunday reported just over 1,400 new coronavirus cases and 14 additional deaths.
One of the deaths announced was a Woodford County man in his 50s. It is unclear at this time if he was a resident of a long-term care facility.
The Woodford County death is the Tri-County’s 67th COVID-related death since the beginning of the pandemic.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate for September 13-19 is 3.5%.
Within the latest 24-hour reporting period, labs processed 48,011 specimens.
As of Saturday night, 1,417 people in Illinois were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of those, 357 patients were in the ICU and 151 patients with COVID were on ventilators.
