SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — For the second day in a row, over 50,000 Illinoisans got tested for COVID-19.
Labs statewide reported 57,800 specimens were taken between Wednesday and Thursday.
2,056 tests came back positive during the reporting period. 25 deaths were reported.
The rolling seven-day positivity rate for the state decreased marginally, to 3.6%.
1,558 people throughout the state were in hospitals. 359 of them were in intensive care units, and 144 were on ventilators.
