SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois as a state remained under 2,000 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday as labs took in 52,311 tests.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,941 throughout the state tested positive between Tuesday and Wednesday, and 35 people died.
The seven-day positivity rate increase slightly, to 3.7%.
1,565 people as of Tuesday night were in Illinois hospitals with the virus. 345 of them were in intensive care, and 143 were on ventilators.
