PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters and paramedics responded to a residential fire Friday at 9:13 p.m.
The first arriving truck company found a fire in the enclosed porch area of the home, located at 1107 W. Gilbert Ave.
Fire crews extinguished the fire with a hose line before checking the rest of the home to make sure the fire didn’t spread.
Remaining truck companies assisted with water supply and removing smoke from the home using a pressurized fan.
The fire was under control within 10 minutes.
There was only one occupant at the time of the fire, and they were evacuated by the time fire crews arrived.
An estimated $500 worth of damage was done to the home, and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.
