SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The rolling seven-day statewide positivity rate for COVID-19 has ticked slightly downwards as the Illinois Department of Public Health reported on Thursday 1,360 new cases of the virus.
The rate went down to 4.4% as 40,795 specimens were taken by labs throughout the state.
IDPH said there were 25 additional deaths during the Wednesday-Thursday reporting period.
1,620 people across the state were in hospitals with the virus. 360 of them were in intensive care, while 144 were on ventilators.
