PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria man was taken into custody Wednesday morning after being suspected of arson.
The county sheriff’s office and Peoria Police Department arrived around 8:45 to 9619 N. Rt. 91.
There, they found a house on fire and a man in the driveway.
That man, 41-year-old Justin Halliburton, was eventually arrested for residential arson and booked into Peoria County Jail.
Initial reports indicated a child and an elderly woman were also inside the home at the time of the fire, but those reports turned out to be false.
In addition to the Peoria Fire Department, crews from Brimfield, Dunlap, Chillicothe, Akron-Princeville were on the scene.
