PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria woman in her 90s is reported to have died from COVID-19. She was among 37 additional deaths announced Wednesday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
IDPH also announced that there were 2,157 new cases of COVID-19.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate is currently at 4%.
As of last night, 1,573 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 350 patients were in the ICU and 132 were on ventilators.
50,362 tests were completed in the last 24 hours. Since the pandemic began, 3,831,412 tests have been completed in Illinois.
IDPH is reporting a total of 225,627 cases, including 7,954 deaths.
